Movie: Zombie Apocalypse

Just got started in this movie. It follows a group of surviors that actually use their noggins (in general). I like that there are variable zombie types in this movie and the people use skills like smell, low noise, and armor from the sporting goods store. I'm not quite sure why they're 'just out wandering around' but otherwise it's not as bad as the other 99% of Sci Fi originals.
    Thoughts?

That wasn't bad - kinda like a live action demo- you get to see all the skills in action-even formations- 2 stumps up!

It is surprisingly good for a Syfy movie. Though it has bad CGI, and sword-fighting techniques that would get the sword-wielder dead instead of the zombies. She was definitely trying not to damage the extras. It's like they took all the innovative things from pop zombie literature and video games, and put them all into one movie. Such as the zombies being drawn to an air horn, which I took to be inspired fromt he Left 4 Dead games.

However, I'm not sure what the point would be to knock out all electronics and communications all over the world if the entire world was already infected.

Yea, I'm not sure about that EMP bit. That's why I ask in the other thread about EMP's. If you've got a pulse strong enough to knock out automobiles, streetlights, etc. Wouldn't flashlights be knocked out too and "especially" small portable devices?

The talk a lot about zombie survival and attack techniques, but there obviously wasn't a lot put into the fight scene choreography.

That is a good question. My initial reaction says 'no' because there is no wiring involved. Batteries pretty much only have a single conduct, there is also no real circuitry involved in a flashlight.

But I really don't know. What would the effect be on crank and hand powered radios too?

I wouldn't know what effect an EMP would have on crank devices, but crank flashlights never stay lit for long. And the crank action makes noticeable noise. So, if you are using those in a scenario, with or without EMPs, you would have to account for making a good deal of noise; and often.
