Why were all of the zombies of L.A. gathered around the prison?

Most likely it gradually increased because there would be less areas of interest for zombies (less prey) as the apocalypse went on. So what probably started out as a couple zombies noticing human activity in the prison grew until all the zombies in the city were attracted to there.

Is that movie even worth it? I'm a humongous fan of RE back in the day, but I stopped giving a damn about it after RE4 and the third movie... which only had one awesome part in it and that is the zombie ravens.

I'm really hoping resi 6 will be bringing it back to zombie basics (although it can't be as scary without the fixed camera angles of the originals), at least the shuffling zombie types seem to be making a return.
That said, the internet (youtube in particular) now seems to be imbued with trailers for it all over, a fact which can't help but turn me off it purely for the annoyance factor (that and they've been released far too early - end of next year?!?)
A storyline finally bringing Leon and Chris together, one wonders how many other capcom extras may get brought in too, I'd imagine Devil May Cry's Dante would probably make pretty short work of most Umbrella OBMs if I'm honest =P

I'm kind of 'meh' about the RE storyline. I believe I've posted about this before, so I won't go into that again. I think the series is functionally extinct as a survival horror series... I'm certain the games can still be fun (RE4 was a blast) but it will be for the same reason Gears of War is fun... not survival horror.

    **EDIT
I've cut down this response and pasted it into my new thread: Resident Evil: A Retrospective to finally get my angst for the RE franchise out of my system and not derail anymore threads with it.

Silent hill certainly has the whole survival horror thing down a bit more, RE's much more action nowadays

If you've got a PS3, you should check out Siren: Blood Curse. Or even track down the original Siren if you still have a PS2.

Yeah. Truth. I've only played 2 Silent Hill titles, but they're both very scary... but I got a pair of moon gauntlets or something like that for beating one of them and the second playthrough of one of them was a breeze because two hits killed literally anything in the game. I'm still working my way through homecoming.

Homecoming's pretty darn good, discovered the combat knife at the start is by far the best weapon - totally trumps the resi knife any day =P
